Recommended dilutions This antibody gave a positive result in ELISA against the immunizing peptide.
We have been unable to detect any bands by Western blotting using this antibody (against Mouse liver, brain or testes lysates). We believe this may be because we do not have access to lysates that have been stimulated to express ABCA1. We would appreciate any feedback on the antibody.
This antibody did not work in IHC-Fr in rat brain tissues (please see abreview for details).
Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
This membrane-associated protein is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. With cholesterol as its substrate, this protein functions as a cholesteral efflux pump in the cellular lipid removal pathway. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Tangier's disease and familial high-density lipoprotein deficiency.
