ADI1 belongs to the acireductone dioxygenase (ARD) family. ADI1 has aci-reductone dioxygenase (ARD) activity and can function in the 5 methylthioadenosine (MTA) methionine salvage pathway. Down regulates cell migration mediated by MMP14. Necessary for hepatitis C virus replication in an otherwise non permissive cell line.
