AEBP2 belongs to the AEBP2/jing C2H2-type zinc-finger family and contains three C2H2-type zinc fingers. It functions as a DNA-binding transcriptional repressor and may interact with and stimulate the activity of the PRC2 complex, which methylates 'Lys-9' and 'Lys-27' residues of histone H3. There are three named isoforms.

Predicted band size : 54 kDa
Observed band size : 35 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
The molecular weight of the band on the western blot does not correspond to the molecular weight of the natural protein because only a fragment of the protein was used.
