Customer called. Indeed customer had used this ab5197 a lot previously. Then as it became unavailable, had to switch to ab59361. However he would like to switch back to ab5197, as the results were somewhat better.

The laboratory has now provided the images of the results with the new and old batch. The old batch has been tested by a collaborator and the new batch has been tested in the laboratory here - this might explain also variation in the migration pattern.Indeed the new batch looks comparable if slightly better. Please see the attached data. The new batch is the batch currently in stock.

I am a scientist in GSF in Germany. I want to use your company antibodies :AID antibody (ab5197) and UNG antibody (ab13668) in western blot. But my proteins come from chicken B cells. Having done a BLAST search (for gallus gallus) for the immunogen sequences used to generate those antibodies I found:

92% homology for AID : Query: 1 NVRWAKGRRETYLC 14 N+RWAKGRRETYLC Sbjct: 17 NLRWAKGRRETYLC 30

88% homology for UNG: Query: 1 CRHFSKTNELLQKSGKKP 18 CRHFSKTNELL+KSGK+P Sbjct: 276 CRHFSKTNELLKKSGKEP 293
