Question 1

Friday 28-September-2007

I would like to know if the purified form of the whole ANP protein that has been used to raise this antibody is available commercially. Thanks,

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not have the protein that was used to make this antibody in our catalogue and I am afraid that I do not know if it is commercially available.

I am sorry I can't be of more assistance in this occasion. Should you require anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Question 2

Tuesday 22-November-2005

What's the antigen sequence for this antibody? What part of the protein was the antibody made to?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

ab2093 was generated using Atrial Natriuretic Peptide whole molecule as the immunogen. The peptide sequence has accession number: CAA25700 and the following sequence:

MSSFSTTTVS FLLLLAFQLL GQTRANPMYN AVSNADLMDF KNLLDHLEEK MPLEDEVVPP QVLSEPNEEA GAALSPLPEV PPWTGEVSPA QRDGGALGRG PWDSSDRSAL LKSKLRALLT APRSLRRSSC FGGRMDRIGA QSGLGCNSFR YRR

I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact me should you require further assistance.

Question 3

Friday 13-August-2004

Customer would like to know - what is the molecular weight of this antibody?

ANSWER:

Clone M622709 is subtype IgG1. The approximate molecular weight of IgG1 is 148,000 daltons. This antibody has only been tested for application in Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)and Radioimmunoassay.

Question 4

Monday 26-April-2004

I am using this antibody in WB on human left ventricle whole cell extract. I am getting a band at 40kDa, where the expected molecular weight should be approximately 17kDa. I'm wondering if it is detecting a precursor form of ANP? Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry and your interest in our products.

As my colleagues possibly explained to you over the telephone, this antibody has not been tested for Western blot application. According to the datasheet, ab2093 recognizes the native form of the human protein (it is suitable for IHC and RIA) but so far we do not have any data regarding its suitability for WB.

It may well be that the antibody recognizes the precursor form of ANP. It is also possible that the protein is undergone some post-translational modification, however we do not have any information about it.

If you need anything further or any help then please let us know.
