Thank you for your response. I am still a little unclear. Can these antibodies be used to detect protein in cells where ASK1 is not overexpressed?

ANSWER: |
Thank you for your email. Regarding ab14380, I double-checked with the source of this antibody and we do believe that the antibody will not be able to detect endogenous ASK1. As stated on the datasheet, "Detects overexpressed ASK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser83." Ab5689 is the same antibody as ab2004 and ab5689 will soon be removed from our catalog. However, these antibodies will recognize endogenous ASK1 and SW1353 whole cell lysate is recommended as a positive control.

I would like to know if the ASK1 detected with these antibodies was constitutive or overexpressed in some cell type. If constitutive- what is the cell type used to detect this protein? |

ANSWER: |
Thank you for your enquiry. Ab14380 detects overexpressed ASK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser83. Ab5689 - a band of 155 kDa was detected using SW1353 whole cell lysate. If you have any additional questions, please contact us again. |
