Question 1

Wednesday 26-October-2011

A researcher from Mexico needs to use a Anti-Adenosine Receptor A2a antibody in rat and CoIP. I found ab3461 but it has not been tested for rat. Could you check the homology to see if you would recommend trying this antibody and if the 100% testing discount would apply. He also needs Anti-Dopamine D2 Receptor antibody to use in rat and CoIP. I found ab21218 that has been tested in rat and IP, but he wants to know if it will work in CoIP as well.

ANSWER:

Hi Daniela, I did an alignment between the rat sequence and the immnunogen sequence for ab3461 and I would not recommend using this antibody in rat. The level of similarity between the two is to low. I would however recommend ab101678, it has not been tested in IP, but it will react with rat tissue. The customer could get a testing discount for trying it out in IP. As for ab21218, I think that one should work in CoIP, if it works in IP, it should work for CoIP. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
