Question 1

Email: ngantina@berkeley.edu

Does this antibody work for WB detection of rat plasma?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. All the information we have on species cross reactivity is specified on the datasheet, these are updated as soon as any new information is brought to our attention.

As far as we are aware, cross reactivity with rat has not yet been tested for use with ab6190, so we can not guarantee that it will work. Should you decide to go ahead and purchase this product, please let us know how you get on by submitting an Abreview and in return we will award you up to 300 Abcam Points, which can be redeemed on a number of rewards (a further 100 points will be offered for an image).

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

Question 2

Tuesday 10-May-2005

What is the epitope recognized by this antibody? Does this antibody cross-react with aldolase A, B, and/or C?

ANSWER:

This is a difficult question to answer. We do not test the antibody cross reactivity to other species, i.e. fish. It is possible though due to the nature of polyclonal antibodies. Second, the enzyme we use is from a commercial source. Biochemists purify it by enzyme activity. We cannot get much information about its substructure. If the aldolase in rabbit muscle has all three subunits, it should be able to recognize every one of them. If only one or two units enrich in muscle, it could just be able to recognize one or two subunits. We do not know exactly.

I hope this information is helpful and please feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

Question 3

Wednesday 05-June-2002

I'm looking for an antibody to look at fructose bisphosphate aldolase C, will this antibody be suitable?

ANSWER:

The cross-reactivity of this antibody against fructose bisphosphate aldolase C has not been tested, therefore we can't guarantee results.
