  • General notes

Annexin V-PE-Cy5 is a bright fluorescent reagent for detecting of the early stages of apoptosis. During apoptosis, phosphatidylserine (PS) is translocated from the cytoplasmic face of the plasma membrane to the cell surface. Annexin V has a strong, Ca2+ dependent affinity for PS and therefore serves as a probe for detecting apoptosis.

  • FunctionThis protein is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the annexin family.
    Contains 4 annexin repeats.
  • DomainA pair of annexin repeats may form one binding site for calcium and phospholipid.

Thank you for your enquiry. Annexin V apoptosis kits work well with all kinds of mammalian species. The assay has no species preference. I hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything further.

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, this reagent will work for adherent cells for either FACS or fluorescence microscopy. For FACS, you would simply trypsinize the cells and wash once in medium before proceeding with the protocol. The protocol used w...
