Your credit note ID is xxxx. I am sorry that this antibody did not perform as stated on the datasheet. Have you any response from the lab about offering a blocking peptide to this?

ANSWER:

Once again, thank you for contacting Abcam.I am sorry that you have been getting less than expected results using ab1906. I was able to speak with the lab today regarding blocking peptide for this product. Unfortunately at this time we do not offer this. I sincerely hope that the suggestions that I made last week have improved your results using ab1906. Please contact me if there is anything else that I might be able to do for you.

Question 3

Thursday 06-January-2011

Based on the antibody datasheet, it is raised against an epitope spanning across amino acid 158 of ApoE. I understand that there is a point mutation under this aa giving the three isoforms of apoE. Is this antibody able to detect all three isoform of ApoE or just selective isoform. May I please ask if you are able to clarify?

ANSWER:

Yes, the ab1906 anti-Apo-E antibody (clone D6E10) recognizes the isoforms E2, E3 and E4 of apolipoprotein E.
