Question 1

Tuesday 21-February-2012

Thank you for caring and providing an excellent service (as always).
The customer has tried to implement Abcam's suggestion but still got unspecific results.
We would very much appreciate to go ahead with your offer to get a replacement antibody in this case.
If a replacement is possible, please wait for my input regarding required antibody.

Thanks again for your kind help.
Regards,

Thank you for your reply.

I will be happy to send a replacement if the product is still under the guarantee Abpromise (after 6 months of the purchase date). Could you please provide the order number?

Would you prefer receiving a new lot from the same product, or a different product against the same target?

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

Question 2

Thursday 15-December-2011

Dear Tech support,   One of our customers has ordered ab8396 and needs a positive control for it for WB. Which of the available Baff protein/peptides would you recommend? The product ab8397 seems to have the exact amino acid sequence used as an immonogen for ab8396 yet is only stated to have been tested for blocking, would this product be a good control and can it be guaranteed by abpromise for that application.   Thank you for your kind help. Regards,

ANSWER:

Thank you for your inquiry. The ab8396 can only be used for blocking. Indeed, the peptide is very short containing only 16 amino acids. I would therefore not recommend it for using as a control by loading on the gel. It would run at around 1.8kD - which is very low and which needs a special gel. As a positive control for BAFF and for ab8396 I can recommend either lysates - such as spleen lysate (e.g. ab29699 : human / ab7937:mouse) or a full length protein containing the immunogen region of ab8396. We do have several full length proteins which we all do guarantee for this application with our Abpromise guarantee:  ab79745,  ab83938, ab109136.  Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=79745). Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=83938). Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=109136). I hope this is helpful. Please do not hesitate to get back to us if you need some more information.

Question 3

Thursday 20-May-2004

I need to find a Baff antibody which can be used for IHC. Has ab7357 or ab8396 been tested for IHC? Thanks.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. To our knowledge, neither of these antibodies have yet to be tested in IHC. All tested applications are specified on Abcam product datasheets. If you decide to go ahead and purchase one of these products, please let us know how you get on and in return we will forward a reward of your choice, typically an Amazon gift voucher.
