BAHD1 (bromo adjacent homology domain-containing 1 protein) is, as its name suggests, a bromo-adjacent homology (BAH) domain. The BAH domain is found in eukaryotic DNA (cytosine-5) methyltransferases, the origin recognition complex 1 (Orc1) proteins, and several proteins involved in transcriptional regulation. It is thought to function as a protein-protein interaction domain. The BAH domain of yeast Sir3p has been shown to bind to nucleosomes and to the N-terminal tail of histone H3.

Western blot - BAHD1 antibody (ab46573)
All lanes : BAHD1 antibody (ab46573) at 1 µg/ml
Lane 1 : HeLa (Human epithelial carcinoma cell line) Whole Cell Lysate Lane 2 : Jurkat (Human T cell lymphoblast-like cell line) Whole Cell Lysate Lane 3 : HEK293 (Human embryonic kidney cell line) Whole Cell Lysate
Lysates/proteins at 10 µg per lane.
Secondary Goat polyclonal to Rabbit IgG - H&L - Pre-Adsorbed (HRP) at 1/3000 dilution
Performed under reducing conditions.
Predicted band size : 85 kDa Observed band size : 75 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
ab46573 detects a band at 75 kDa in a range of human cell lysates. We are unsure as to why the band seen is lower than predicted and would welcome any customer feedback and comments regarding this product and the data presented above.
