Question 1

Thursday 29-June-2006

Have these antibodies been tested in FACS?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

The antibodies were tested by FACS on bone marrow and kidney tissue, but we have no data or a publication available.

We know that one customer has compared the two and found that ab24115 was more sensitive than ab24114. He used a dilution of 1:10. The antibodies are not suitable on viable, unfixed cells.

I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 2

Friday 18-November-2005

Do I need to permeabilise my cells in FACS, i.e. is the epitope internal or extracellular?

ANSWER:

The immunogen was raised against amino acids 221-394 of the Mouse Protein and according to Swiss Prot the amino acids 1-393 are cytoplasmic so the antibody recognizes the intracellular portion of the protein. We expect the FACS protocol to require permeabilization of the cells,

I hope this information helps,
