Question 1

Friday 11-November-2005

I am seeing a 37kD band on my Western blot. Do you have any ideas what this may be?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

I have contacted the scientists that tested this antibody, and they stated that they only observe one single band at 22kDa with the antibody. I am sorry that we don't have any further insight as to what the 37kD band is that you are seeing.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything further.

Question 2

Thursday 11-March-2004

Thank you for your prompt answer. Could you find out if the peptide the company use as immunogen is in the portion where the proteins have 80 % homology with the rat or in the 20% where they are different. We already bought the antibody.I'm changing conditions in the western blot to see if I have the protein. We are working with a luteal cell line derived from rat.

ANSWER:

The originator of ab2561 was only able to inform me that the immunogen used was a synthetic peptide surrounding the cleavage site of mouse Bid.

Question 3

Tuesday 09-March-2004

I'd like to know if this antibody can react against rat.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. All the information we have on species cross reactivity is specified on the datasheet. To our knowledge, cross reactivity with rat has not yet been tested. Should you decide to go ahead and purchase this product, please let us know how you get on and in return we will forward a reward of your choice, typically an Amazon gift voucher.

Question 4

Wednesday 20-August-2003

Can you tell us please what positive controls were used in the Western blot and any other details from the testing?

ANSWER:

L929 cell lysate can be used as a positive control for the anti-Bid antibody.
