Question 1

Monday 05-December-2011

Dear Sir or Ma’am, Thank you so much for all of the help I received from your technical support team when I called today to inquire about an antibody purchase I’d like to make.  I wanted to ask a couple more questions before placing my order:  For the product Ab 24222, it has not been tested yet for IHC-P in humans, which is the purpose for which I’d like to use it.  It was mentioned that if I did an abreview, we could get a coupon for a free antibody in the future.  What are the steps to enter into that agreement?  Also for products Ab 2521 and Ab2524, there are not pictures or western blots to show the antibody quality.  We plan to use these too for IHC-P in humans, for which they’ve been guaranteed.  If I order them and they don’t work well, what is entailed in that guarantee and what process is in place?  I very much appreciate your time in answering these questions.  Sincerely,

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry and your interest in our products.

We can offer testing discount for untested species/application and also for images for tested application.   I can confirm that ab24222 has not been tested yet in IHC; whilst ab2521 and ab2524 both have been tested for IHC-P (however no image available yet) so testing discount can also be requested.

We can offer you one discount code for one product only first; however after publishing the Abreview we can certainly offer a new discount code for the other product you wish to test.   You can find some further information about our testing scheme at this site: The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount.

Follow these easy steps for a 100% testing discount:

Email technical@abcam.com or us.technical@abcam.com and tell our Scientific Support team the product, application, and species you are interested in testing

Our scientists will email you a personal discount code to give you a 100% discount on your next product

Purchase the product at regular price

Test the product in your species and application

Submit your results: www.abcam.com/abreviews

Once the Abreview is submitted, the discount code will become active

Place a new order by phone, fax, or web and include your 100% testing discount code

If you need any further assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please do let me know if you wish to test any of these products.

Question 2

Tuesday 09-March-2004

Thanks, could you pl.clarify what is your tissue culture medium. Is it a serum free medium, since many culture media have 10 % FBS added to them.

ANSWER:

I enquired again with the originator of ab2522 and ab2524 and the only information that they were able to give me is that the tissue culture medium is 10% Fetal calf serum at the beginning of cultivation.

Question 3

Monday 08-March-2004

Technical service: Re: ab2522 or ab 2524 I would like to know if the tissue culture supernatant contains albumin and what is the approx. conc. of antibody as well as any additive proteins.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. Regarding ab2522 and ab2524, no other additives were added to the tissue culture supernatant except azide for preservation. Antibody concentration has not been determined, only specifity by agglutination was performed to confirm antibody is working well. A rough estimate would be between 50-300 ug/ml.

Question 4

Thursday 17-April-2003

I would like to know the Tissue culture supernatant constituents and IgM concentration for ab2522 and ab2524. I have already bought these.

ANSWER:

The hybridoma is grown in classical RPMI media supplemented with 10%FCS. Supernatant is concentrated about 4 fold by ultrafiltration (100kDa). Specifity is verified by agglutination method. The content of IgM is not determined.
