Since you obtained poor results using the antibody in a untested species, we would like to follow up on this to see if we can possibly improve the results by offering some troubleshooting advice.
Based on the information in your review, I'd like to suggest to consider the following:
- the homology of the full length protein with rat is very poor, which might explain why the antibody is not working in rat samples.
Other suggestions to try in general could be:
- check if the protein is expressed with high enough copy numbers in this sample type
- incubate longer with the primary antibody
