Specificity
|
ab24055 recognises the human CD1a cell surface glycoprotein, a 49kD molecule expressed in association with beta 2 microglobulin. CD1a is expressed strongly by cortical thymocytes, and also by Langerhans cells and interdigitating cells.
NA1/34 does not precipitate out B2m, and SDS PAGE experiments performed by McMichael, A.J.et al.(1979) suggest that NA1/34 recognises a single protein component. From this information it seems very likely that the epitope is not found on the B2m part of the protein.

Recommended dilutions
Flow Cyt: 1/50 - 1/100. Use 10µl of suggeted dilution for 106 cells in 100ul
Not tested in other applications.

CD1a is a non polymorphic MHC Class 1 related cell surface glycoprotein, expressed in association with Beta 2 microglobulin. CD1a is expressed by cortical thymocytes, Langerhan's cells and by interdigitating cells. CD1a is also expressed by some malignancies of T cell lineage and in histiocytosis X.
