Description
Mouse monoclonal [NA1/34-HLK] to CD1a
Specificity
ab24055 recognises the human CD1a cell surface glycoprotein, a 49kD molecule expressed in association with beta 2 microglobulin. CD1a is expressed strongly by cortical thymocytes, and also by Langerhans cells and interdigitating cells. NA1/34 does not precipitate out B2m, and SDS PAGE experiments performed by McMichael, A.J.et al.(1979) suggest that NA1/34 recognises a single protein component. From this information it seems very likely that the epitope is not found on the B2m part of the protein.
