The problem we are facing is that the sequence for Chinchillalanigera has not been fullysequenced as of today. Due to thesimilarity of the Chinchillalanigera to rats and mice webelieve that the CD46 will have very conserved sequences within these species. Is there someway we can work around this to determine this antibodies' reactivity with a Chinchilla lanigera CD46?

We would like to determine if CD46 is expressed in the upper airway of the rodent Chinchilla lanigera. Could you provide me with any information related to the ability of this antibody to detect the chinchilla orthologue of human CD46? We have not tested ab72836 on Chinchilla lanigera, if you are able to provide the CD46 sequence for Chinchilla lanigera, then I can determine if the antibody would have a good chance of working with this species or not. Currently we do not supply sample sizes of our antibodies, as we guarantee them to work as stated on the datasheet. In cases such as these, when someone wishes to use an antibody in an untested species or application, then we can offer our 100% testing discount (we can only do this if there is at least 85% homology between the immunogen species and the untested species). Therefore, if I can ascertain the level of homology, then you may be able to take advantage of the discount program.
