Question 1

Friday 29-July-2011

I need to order the CD95 antibody that induces apoptosis in Jurkat and a kit which can assay the apoptotic induction (iodine staining, etc.).  I cannot find it in the website.  Do you have links to where I can go to find these products?  My main goal is to induce Jurkat cells to apoptose and be able to confirm that the induction worked.

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

ab19456, ab11881, ab34359, ab25405 and ab25290 antibodies can be used in Biological studies which may include apoptosis. We unfortunately haven’t tested these antibodies in our own laboratory so unfortunately we will not be able to guarantee the apoptosis induction by these products. However as these clones are tested in functional assays so theoretically it is more likely that these products can induce apoptosis. Please be advised that the experimental conditions have to be optimized by end user themselves. ab11881 clone (UT-1) has been shown as apoptosis inducer in different vendors websites so this product can serve your purpose. Copy and paste the link of datasheet; http://www.abcam.com/CD95-antibody-UT-1-ab11881.html

We also have Apoptosis inducer KITs available in catalogue with ab102480; http://www.abcam.com/Apoptosis-Inducer-Kit-Ready-to-use-ab102480.html

Apoptosis could also be induced by ab39758; http://www.abcam.com/camptothecin-ab39758.html

Apoptosis detection kits;

ab14085; http://www.abcam.com/Annexin-V-FITC-Apoptosis-Detection-Kit-ab14085.html

ab14150; http://www.abcam.com/Annexin-V-Cy5-Apoptosis-Detection-Kit-ab14150.html

ab14193; http://www.abcam.com/Annexin-V-Biotin-Apoptosis-Detection-Kit-ab14190.html

Finally, we also recommend searching literature, about the use of these products.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 2

Monday 17-September-2007

I wanted to know if it's possible to have the CD95 antibody [IPO-4] free of azide. I would like to induce like to induce apoptosis with this antibody. One more thing, do you have a protocol for the induction of apoptosis of primary cells with this antibody?

I would really appreciate if you could answer me asap.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

As stated on the datasheet, I can confirm that this CD95 antibody ab19456 is provided in PBS without any azide added. The reference at the following website address provides details of the use of this antibody to induce apoptosis:

I hope this will be helpful to you. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
