My PI has asked me to put that order on hold temporarily in order to fast-track antibody ordering for a new project. Funding has become available for us to conduct a smaller 60-antibody panel on plasma samples from a different study that we are involved with. The new panel has some protein targets in common with the much larger “Pain Panel” that you were helping me complete, so I’ve already identified a number of antibodies that we will want to order again for those targets. I was hoping that you could help me again with identifying additional antibodies for us to use. Just like last time, the criteria for ideal antibodies in order of importance are: 1. recombinant full-length human protein was used as the immunogen 2. antibody was tested and validated in an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbant Assay (ELISA) as well as other applications 3. antibody possesses monoclonal clonality We have funds to order a total of 60 antibodies for this project, so we would like to start by identifying 3 antibodies per target. Then, we will decide which 12 antibodies we can omit to get down to 60 based on the criteria they meet and our relative interest in their protein targets. My list so far is attached. Let me know if this is something you can assist with. |

The immunogen used in creating ab66073 is COMT (AAH00419, *****a.a) full length recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa. The GST-tag (from Schistosoma japonicum) is at the N-terminal of recombinant protein and the sequence is as follows. The website lists the immunogen used in creating ab66073 as "Recombinant full length protein (Human) with tag." It would be helpful to know something more about this tag (name, amino acid sequence, etc.), so we might know what to expect when attempting to look for the protein in human biological samples. We'll likely add your other antibody verified in an ELISA format to our list too, but any additional info you can dig up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help as always. |

I have emailed the lab to find out any information on the tag and I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. |
