Question 2

Friday 04-May-2012

Hello, dear AbCam representative! I simply wanted to confirm whether the antigen for this antibody is phosphorylation-specific or not? (I.e., when performing ChIP, should we use phosphatases, or does the antibody recognize an unphosphorylated region)? Thank you! (regarding Anti-CTCF Ab ab70303)

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam regarding ab70303.

Regarding the immunogen used to generate this antibody, it is not specifically phosphorylated and thus this antibody does not specifically target phosphorylated CTCF. Thus phosphatase inhibitors are not required.

I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions.

Question 3

Monday 20-February-2012

Kindly advise the difference between the immunogens of ab37478 and ab70303.
Thanks in advance for your assistance and reply.
Have a nice week,

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.
The immunogen sequence of ab37478 is from N-terminal end between aa1-278 and the immunogen for ab70303 is from C-terminal end amino acid 650 - 700.
ab37477 immunogen is also derived from N-terminal end which could be a good alternative to ab37478.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
