    ab100716 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse CXCL11 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. This assay employs an antibody specific for mouse CXCL11 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CXCL11 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse CXCL11 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRPconjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CXCL11 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

  • RelevanceThis member of the the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family is chemotactive for interleukin-activated T cells but not unstimulated T cells, neutrophils or monocytes. It induces calcium release in activated T cells and binds to CXCR3. It may play an important role in CNS diseases which involve T cell recruitment and in skin immune responses. It is expressed at high levels in peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas and liver astrocytes and at moderate levels in thymus, spleen and lung. It is induced by interferon gamma and interferon beta.
