Unfortunately, the immunogen of ab1671 shows less than 60% homology with dog and therefore we do not expect a crpss-raction of this antibody. ab63851 does show a 93% homology with dog and would in general be eligable for the testing discount programme. But in this case ab11370 is the better choice since it shows 100% homology with dog and reacts also with Connexin 43 / GJA.

I'm a posdoc from xxxxx, and I'm working on a gene function project which need the CXCR4 antibody to detect CXCR4 protein in a Rabbit cell by westernblot.
I found two CXCR4 antibody ab2074 and ab1671 on your web, ab2074 is Rabbit polyclonal to CXCR4, ab1671 is Goat polyclonal to CXCR4, so my question is if I want to detect Rabbit CXCR4 protein, which one is better?

I have had a look at the two antibodies you are interested in. Unfortunately neither ab2074or ab1671 have been used with rabbit samples to our knowledge. Currently we do not have any anti-CXCR4 antibodies which have been tested with rabbit samples.


I would suggest out of the two antibodies, ab1671 would be more appropriate as the other antibody was raised in rabbit and you would therefore have greater risk of non-specificity being observed when detecting CXCR4in rabbit samples. Through comparison of the immunogen used to raise this antibody to that of the rabbit protein, they share 88% homology and we would therefore predict that the antibody would be able to detect the rabbit protein. Although as I have already mentioned, we cannot guarantee this as we have not tested it yet.


We do have a testing discount scheme which you may be interested in.
