Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab11426 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
ICC/IF: Use at an assay dependent concentration. (PubMed: 21345011)
IF: 1/200 - 1/1000.
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
IHC-P: Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml
IP: Use a concentration of 5 µg/ml
WB: Use a concentration of 0.1 µg/mlDetects a band of approximately 28 kDa.
IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution. (PubMed: 19826483)
Buffers cytosolic calcium. May stimulate a membrane Ca(2+)-ATPase and a 3',5'-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase.
Belongs to the calbindin family.
Contains 5 EF-hand domains.
This protein has four functional calcium-binding sites; potential sites II and VI have lost affinity for calcium.

Western blot - Calbindin antibody - Neuronal Marker (ab11426)

Western blot of calbindin D from rat kidney using ab11426.
Immunohistochemistry (PFA perfusion fixed frozen sections) - Calbindin antibody - Neuronal Marker (ab11426)

ab11426 at a dilution of 1/1000, staining Calbindin in neurons (Alexa 488 secondary at 1/2000) on 30
NB: No labeling observed following omission of primary antibody.
Sections were viewed using an Axioplan 2 Imaging microscope (Imaging Associates) fitted with 10x, 20x and 40x Plan-Neofluorobjectives (Zeiss, Germany) and images were taken using a AxioCam Hrm digital camera (Zeiss, Germany) and AxioVision software (Imaging Associates). Imgae recoloured in Photoshop.
Immunocytochemistry - Calbindin antibody - Neuronal Marker (ab11426)

Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells immunopositive for Calbindin (Abcam ab11426, 1:500). Secondary antibody: Alexa Fluor 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (1:500). Cells underwent a 5-stage differentiation protocol to generate neurons. These cells were stained after stage 5.
