Overview

Product name

Anti-Calpain 14 antibody - Domain I, large subunit
See all Calpain 14 products (2) ...

Description

Rabbit polyclonal to Calpain 14 - Domain I, large subunit

Specificity

ab38945 recognizes latent but not the aminotruncated (active) Calpain 14. It binds to Calpain 14, but does not cross react with the other calpain family members (Calpain 1, Calpain 2, ncl 2, ncl 3, etc.)

Applications

Show applications key

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab38945 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • WB

Application notes

WB: A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentrations of antibody may be needed for samples from more distantly related species. When used against the reduced protein this antibody identifies bands at 76 kD, and a series of further cleaved forms. Dilution optimised using Chromogenic detection. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Function

Calcium-regulated non-lysosomal thiol-protease.

Tissue specificity

Not expressed in tissues tested.

Belongs to the peptidase C2 family.
Contains 1 calpain catalytic domain.
Contains 3 EF-hand domains.
