The casein kinase 1 family of protein kinases is common to all eukaryotic cells, although tissue distribution and subcellular localisation may vary between isoforms. Casein kinase 1 delta has been implicated in the regulation of p53. Upregulation of casein kinase 1 delta expression has been reported in Alzheimer's disease hippocampus and its association with tau-containing bodies suggests that it may play a role in the abnormal phosphorylation of tau.

ab10877 at 1/200 dilution staining Casein Kinase 1 delta in mouse skeletal muscle tissue section by Immunohistochemistry (PFA perfusion fixed frozen sections). Tissue samples from 4 to 6 week old BALB/c mice were immediately removed after killing and immersion fixed in Bouin's solution. Primary antibody was used for 40 minutes at RT. Specific antibody binding was visualised by the peroxidase reaction using DAB as substrate-chromogen. Image from Lohler J et. al., PLoS ONE. 2009; 4(1): e4174 (Fig 2C).
