Recommended dilutions
ICC/IF: Use at a concentration of 5 µg/ml.
IHC-FoFr: 1/300.

Caspr2 (for Contactin-associated protein 2)is a mammalian homolog of Drosophila Neurexin IV and belongs to the Neurexin family of highly homologous neuronal cell surface proteins; other members include neurexin I (NRXN1), neurexin II (NRXN2) and neurexin III (NRXN3) and Neurexin IV (Caspr). Caspr2 and the closely related Caspr, demarcate distinct subdomains in myelinated axons. Specifically, Caspr is present at the paranodal junctions, while Caspr2 is colocalized with Shaker-like K+ channels in the juxtaparanodal region.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Caspr2 antibody (ab33994)
ICC/IF image of ab33994 stained SHSY5Y cells. The cells were 4% PFA fixed (10 min), permabilised in 0.1% PBS-Tween (20 min) and incubated with the antibody (ab33994, 5µg/ml) for 1h at room temperature. 1%BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine was used to block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The secondary antibody (green) was Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) used at a 1/1000 dilution for 1h. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (red). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).
