Question 1

Tuesday 01-May-2012

I am shopping for the EP1601Y Keratin 5 antibody, #ab52635. I see you sell it in a 100ul amount. Could you please tell me the concentration?
Also, I would like to ask about buying in bulk. I noticed this option on your website. Again, depending on the concentration I could see what quantity our lab would need and we could discuss this as well hopefully.
Thank you for your time,

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam.
The concentration for the current lot of ab52635 that we have is **** mg/mL.
Please let me know if you would be interested in a bulk order and I will be happy to forward you enquiry to our specialist that is in charge of these.
Hope you are having a great day.

Question 2

Wednesday 11-April-2012

Hello,
Our lab is interested in Ab Cam's antibody listed below specifically to do IF on a monolayer. The details listed online do not mention this technique. Would it be possible to get a sample of this antibody since it does not provide information for this common application? I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you,

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.
Actually ab52635 has been tested succesfully for reactivity to tissue culture cells, we refer to this application as ICC/IF (Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence).
Regarding species specificity, thusfar we have found reactivity to human and mouse cytokeratin 5, but no reactivity to rat protein. Other species have not yet been tested.
If you wish to stain human or mouse cells, we guarantee the antibody to work in these instances. Unfortunately we can not guarantee untested species. Please see www.abcam.com/abpromise for more details regarding our guarantee.
Also we are not able to provide small sample sizes. We only have sizes available as noted on the online product datasheets.
I hope this is helpful. Please contact me again if you have any further questions.

Question 3

Wednesday 29-February-2012

I've noticed that you're ab24647-50 product (Rabbit pAb anti-cytokeratin 5) is no longer available. Do you have a new product number or comparable antibody you'd recommend?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

I would like to reassure you that our antibodies have all been tested successfully and would be covered by our guarantee in the applications listed on the datasheets. Therefore, anyCytokeratin 5antibody tested in the species and application you are using should be suitable for your applications.

Also, although we produce many in-house antibodies, we obtain other antibodies from a wide range of sources. Therefore, comparison experiments will not often have been done.

If you wish to be more certain, I can suggest choosing the antibody that has been best characterized. By this I mean the antibody that has been tested in the most applications and has the most data available (on the datasheet).

In this instance ab52635 had the most abreviews and publications. It too is rabbit polyclonal and has been shown to work in IHC-Fr,ICC/IF,IHC-P,WB,IHC-P on mouse and human tissues.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
