Dishevelled proteins act as scaffolds essential for Wnt signaling, providing docking sites for protein kinases, phosphatases, adaptor proteins, G proteins, and other scaffolds such as Axin. Alterations of the DVL1 gene have been reported in breast and cervical cancer.

 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - Dishevelled / Dvl1 antibody (ab21062)
Image courtesy of Human Protein Atlas ab21062 staining Dishevelled in human stomach glandular cells. Paraffin embedded human stomach tissue was incubated with ab21062 (1/100 dilution) for 30 mins at room temperature. Antigen retrieval was performed by heat induction in citrate buffer pH 6. ab21062 was tested in a tissue microarray (TMA) containing a wide range of normal and cancer tissues as well as a cell microarray consisting of a range of commonly used, well characterised human cell lines.
