I have to confirm that the immunogen for ab5981 only shows a 82% homology with mouse. This is very border line and it is likely that the antibody will not detect mouse, although this was not experimentally tested by us.

I therefore suggest to choose one of the following antibodies instead. They are all tested and guarateed for mouse:

I am sorry for the inconveniences, but I would please ask you to check whether the antibody volume is stuck at the top of the vial, or even through the sides of the vial as a film viscous liquid.

This antibody is particularly concentrated, and 100ug are provided in liquid form. Due to its high concentration, only about 17ul are contained in the vial. It is a very small volume, not easily measurable, so I recommend centrifuging the vial, and checking the liquid is not retained in the top or the sides of it.

The method is IHC-P and the antibodies we would like to purchase are
Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase antibody ab51191 or ab112 - is there any specific difference that can affect quality of our analysis?

We will have about 100 young Wistar rat brains intended for IHC-P as a part of dopamine neurotoxicity research.

We do guarantee both of these antibodies, ab51191 and ab112, to work on rat IHC-P. Therefore both should be adapted for your study. The ab112 has been used up to 1/750 in IHC-P and has been produced against the full length, denatured protein. The ab51191 has been produced against a peptide around amino acid 19, and will therefore recongize the protein in that region. If there would be an isoform without the N terminal part, the ab51191 would therefore not recognize it. Indeed, for the human protein, such an isoform is described (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P07101). I do however not know whether this would be of any relevance for your study.
I can confirm that the ab5981 has been tested against the rat protein. However this antibody has not yet been tested by us on IHC-P.
