Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab61859 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
IHC-P: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
WB: 1/200 - 1/500.Detects a band of approximately 70 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 62 kDa).
ICC: 1/200 - 1/500.
Transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. Essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. Acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium.
Belongs to the sodium:dicarboxylate (SDF) symporter (TC 2.A.23) family. SLC1A2 subfamily.
Glycosylated.
Membrane.

![Western blot - EAAT2 antibody [10B7] (ab61859)](/ps/datasheet/Images/61/ab61859/ab61859_1.jpg)
All lanes : Anti-EAAT2 antibody [10B7] - Carboxyterminal end (ab61859) at 1/200 dilution
Lane 1 : COS7 cells transfected with GLT1a
Lane 2 : COS7 cells transfected with EAAT2
Predicted band size : 62 kDa
Observed band size : 70 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
Additional bands at : 50 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
