Recommended dilutions ICC/IF: Use at an assay dependent dilution (PMID 19729507). IP: Use at 2-5µg/mg of lysate. WB: 1/2000 - 1/10000. Detects a band of approximately 55 and 190 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 152 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
EDC4 belongs to the WD repeat EDC4 family, it contains four WD repeats. In the process of mRNA degradation EDC4 seems to play a role in mRNA decapping. EDC4 is a component of a complex containing DCP2 and DCP1A which functions in decapping of ARE-containing mRNAs. It promotes complex formation between DCP1A and DCP2, and enhances the catalytic activity of DCP2 (in vitro). There are two named isoforms.

Western blot - EDC4 antibody (ab72408)
All lanes : EDC4 antibody (ab72408) at 0.04 µg/ml
Lane 1 : Whole cell lysate from Hela cells at 50 µg Lane 2 : Whole cell lysate from Hela cells at 15 µg Lane 3 : Whole cell lysate from Hela cells at 5 µg Lane 4 : Whole cell lysate from 293T cells at 50 µg Lane 5 : Whole cell lysate from NIH3T3 cells at 50 µg
developed using the ECL technique
Predicted band size : 152 kDa Observed band size : 190 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?) Additional bands at : 55 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
Exposure time : 30 seconds
