Methylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (K4) is thought to be a global epigenetic mark in euchromatin and a mediator of activated transcription. H3(K4) demethylation is regulated by KDM1/LSD1, which can remove di- and mono-methylation from H3(K4), and the JARID proteins such as RBP2 which catalyzes the removal of methylation through a hydroxylation reaction.

The kit is ready-to-use and provides all the essential components needed for measuring histone demethylase H3(K4) specific activity/inhibition from a broad range of species including mammalian cells/tissues, plants, and bacteria.
