Anti-FBP2 antibody (ab84566)

Thank you for your swift response. Please find attached some Western blots of mouse tissues demonstrating that this antibody detects both FBP1 and FBP2. For comparison I have included data for an FBP1 antibody from a competitor which illustrates the expression pattern of FBP1 which is replicated by your FBP2 antibody. Please also note that in many tissues your antibody is fairly non-selective. The FBP2 antibody also detects FBP1 purified from mouse liver or recombinant FBP1 prepared in E.coli.

I will gladly accept your offer of a credit note.

I would also like to add that I and many others prefer to see antibodies tested on multiple tissue samples, both positive and negative as this is a much better test of how specific a reagent really is.

I have investigated this with our source for this antibody, and they have no further laboratory data to confirm the crossreactivity with FBP1. We aim to provide as much data as possible to customers, but this is regrettably this is not always possible for those products that are sourced externally. 

However, based on the high alignment of the immunogen with the FBP1 protein (84%), and the data you have kindly provided, I have updated the datasheet to state that this antibody is also likely to detect FBP1.
