Application notes
(see key)
|
Recommended dilutions SDS-PAGE: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Biological Activity: The activity was estimated by stimulation of 3H-thymidine incorporation in quiescent Balb/c3T3 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1.5-2.0 ng/ml. Maximal effect for DNA synthesis was observed at 5-7 ng/ml rhFGF9.
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
FGF9 is a heparin binding growth factor, which is a member of the FGF family of proteins. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. FGF9 is produced mainly by neurons and may have a role in glial cell growth and differentiation during development; gliosis during repair and regeneration of brain tissue after damage, differentiation and survival of neuronal cells, and growth stimulation of glial tumors.
