Recommended dilutions
ICC/IF: 1/200. Use with Methanol-fixed cells.
IHC-P: 1/100. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
WB: Use at a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 47 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 47 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Cellular localization
|
Localization of flotillin 1 seems to be cell-type-specific: is a major protein component of lipid rafts and shows localizations at the cell membrane, in the cytoplasm, and in the nucleus (without association with any identifiable structures, including the nucleolus or the nuclear envelope).

Flotillin-1 is a lipid raft-associated protein that has been implicated in various cellular processes: it has been reported to function as a molecular link between lipid rafts of the plasma membrane and a multimeric signaling complex at the actin cytoskeleton, to associate with caveolae , regulating vesicular trafficking and signal transduction, and to have mitogenic properties.
Its subcellular localisation seems to be cell-type-specific. It has been found associated with the cell membranes, nucleus, cytoplasm and different cytoplasmic organelles.

ab41927 (1/100) staining Flotilin 1 in paraffin embedded - Human (anal cancer), Mouse (brain) and Rat (spleen) tissues. Tissue sections underwent paraformaldehyde fixation, heat mediated antigen retrieval using Citrate Buffer pH 6.0 and were blocked using sequential peroxidase and protein block (prediluted).
