Question 1

Tuesday 29-June-2010

This antibody immunogen corresponds to aa 851-953 of human GAA, that is the final sequence of the protein (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P10253). If you please, take a look at this article http://www.jbc.org/content/280/8/6780.full.pdf+html page 6789, Figure 7 You'll see that this final sequence is cleaved by a protease to form the mature GAA with 70 kDa. So, I would like to confirm whether this antibody will or will not detect the mature form considering the immunogen sequence used to produce it (aa 851-953).

ANSWER:

Thank you for your inquiry.

The immunogen of the antibody is GAA (AAH40431, 851 a.a. ~ 953 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag.

According to the description on paper, this part of GAA, 851 a.a. ~ 953 a.a, will be cleaved in the mature form. For this reason, the laboratory did not think that this antibody would recognize mature GAA.

I hope this information helps. Please contact me with any other questions.
