Good Day! We have a customer who is interested in the above antibody and have a technical question regarding the detected band on the WB. Please see below for their message: I recently have purchased a antibody from AbCam, Anti-GADD45G antibody (ab56802). My protein’s (GADD45G) actual molecular weight is 17KD but the data sheet says this antibody detects the band at 47KD. I couldn’t find any description in the data sheet explaining the discrepancy. It would be great if you could solve this for me or point me in a right direction I understand that this antibody was used with a recombinant protein and not the endogenous protein. And one of the other GADD45G antibodies have similar situation where the detected band was at 65kDa and the predicted MW id 17kDa and this was due to the immunogen being a fusion protein. I just want to confirm that this ab56802 has a similar this with you before we contact the customer. I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards |

Thank you for your email. The Western blot data we presented is with a recombinant protein with GST tag. (MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.) So, the antibody picked up a band at 43.6KDa.
