We are aiming to perform a double immunohistochemistry against eGFP and jRED. Do your anti GFP antibodies (http://www.abcam.com/GFP-antibody-ab290.html, http://www.abcam.com/GFP-antibody-ab13970.html, http://www.abcam.com/GFP-antibody-ab6556.html) cross react with jRED protein? Anti jRED antibody does not cross react with (Evrogen, AB961) with GFP.

I have attached the alignment between the jRED and GFP sequences and based on the sequence homology, I do not think that the jRED antibodies would cross react with GFP and vice versa.

We have not tried any of our GFP antibodies against the jRed protein, so I am unsure if they would react or not. I cannot find the sequence for the jred protein, so I am not able to an alignment between the GFP and jRed and see how much overlap, if any there is.

I am sorry I could not provide more information, but if you happen to have the sequence for jRed, then I would be happy to see if there is a chance they will overlap or not.

I am interested in Abcam antibody ab6556, one of your anti-GFP antibodies.  I would like to know if this antibody has been tested in zebrafish?  I would like to use this antibody to test for GFP expression in a transgenic zebrafish line.  If this antibody has not been tested in zebrafish, would it be possible for me to receive a small sample of this antibody to test in some of our transgenic zebrafish lines with known patterns of GFP expression?

Also, if you can tell me who the NIH/NCI sales representative is, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your enquiry.

I am sorry to confirm that these GFP antibodies have not been tested for detection of GFP from Zoanthus sp.

Our GFP antibodies, including ab6556, ab1218 and ab290are all raised against immunogens from the Aquorea victoria GFP protein, which has low alignment of just19% with GFP from Zoanthus sp.Regrettably, this suggests that the antibodies would not detect GFP from Zoanthus sp.
