Recommended dilutions ELISA: 1/10000. This dilution guideline applies to glutaraldehyde linked GIP OA (molar ratio 4:1) coated at 1 mg/mL. With GIP coated directly at 2 µg/mL the dilution guideline is 1/2000.
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
Gastric inhibitory peptide, GIP, is a 42 amino acid residue protein and is principally produced in K cells in the duodenum, jejunum and, occasionally, upper ileum. GIP may also be expressed in non intestinal tissues such as rat salivary glands. It is a potent stimulator of insulin secretion in hyperglycemia. GIP acts by binding to specific G protein coupled receptors on the pancreatic islet cell membrane. An internal domain of GIP may be responsible and that the mechanism of ligand activated signal transduction is via a wortmannin sensitive pathway.
Fusion partner: SP2/mIL6.
