Recommended dilutions ICC/IF: Use at an assay dependent dilution (PMID 19001095). IHC-P: 1/75. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval via the pressure cooker method before commencing with IHC staining protocol. WB: Use at a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 34 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 34 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
GODZ is a palmitoyl acyl transferase with broad specificity. GODZ palmitoylates GABA receptors on their gamma subunit (GABRG1, GABRG2 and GABRG3) and glutamate receptors GRIA1 and GRIA2, which leads to their retention in Golgi. Post-translational palmitoylation is a reversible modification that plays an important roles in regulating the membrane trafficking of proteins and in regulating protein activity

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - GODZ antibody (ab31837)
(Image courtesy of Human Protein Atlas) ab31837 detecting GODZ protein in the purkinje cells of normal human cerebellum. Paraffin embedded human cerebral cortex tissue was incubated with ab31837 (1/75 dilution) for 30 mins at room temperature. Antigen retrieval was performed by heat induction in citrate buffer pH 6.
