Antibody arrived and was cloudy and when it was spun down a white pellet formed. Have tried it in IHC and do get staining but not sure it is specific as the vial may be contaminated. |
|||||||||
ANSWER: |
Thank you for contacting Abcam. I have talked to my colleagues about the cloudy vial of antibody that you received. It does certainly seen that the vial was contaminated. This may seem like a strange question, but does the vial have a smell associated with it? If it is not contaminated then it should not smell of anything. If the antibody is contaminated then I would be happy to send you a replacement vial. To process the replacement, could you provide me with the original order number or even just the date the antibody was ordered. I look forward to your reply and resolving this issue for you. |

ab71559 staining Hes1 in small intestine tissue by Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections). The sections were fixed in paraformaldehye and subjected to heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citric buffer, pH 6.0 prior to blocking with 10% serum for 1 hour at 20ºC. The primary antibody was diluted 1/100 and incubated with the sample for 12 hours at 4ºC. An HRP-conjugated Goat anti-Rabbit polyclonal was used as the secondary antibody, diluted 1/200.
