    ab113353 Porcine IFN gamma ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of pig IFN gamma in serum, plasma (using EDTA and Citrate as an anticoagulant, heparin is not recommended) and cell culture supernatants. This assay employs an antibody specific for pig IFN gamma coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IFN gamma present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-pig IFN gamma antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IFN gamma bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Properties

  • RelevanceMammalian Interferon gamma is mainly produced by T lymphocytes and NK cells. It is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in the regulation of nearly all phases of immune and inflammatory responses,including the activation, growth and differentiation of T cell, B cells, macrophages, NK cells and other cell types such as endothelial cells and fibroblasts. It has weak antiviral and antiproliferative activity, and poteniates the antiviral and anti tumor effects of IFN alpha / beta (type I interferon). It is upregulated by IL2, FGF basic, EGF and downregulated by vitamin D3 or DMN. Labile at pH 2.
