IP: Use at a concentration of 5 µg/ml. 5µg immunoprecipitates IGFBP 1 from a 1:100 dilution of 10X conditioned media from rat H-4-II-E hepatoma cells.
WB: Use at a concentration of 1 µg/ml. 1µg/ml detects IGFBP 1 in a 1:10 dilution of 10X concentrated conditioned media from rat H-4-II-E hepatoma cells. 10X concentrated H-4-II-E conditioned media was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Rat IGFBP 1 (1µg/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Predicted molecular weight: 32kDa.
Not tested in other applications.

IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors. Promotes cell migration.

Phosphorylated; probably by casein kinase II. Alters the affinity of the protein for IGFs.
