Applications

Show applications key

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab25251 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application notes

Flow Cyt: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Use up to 1ug/106 cells.
IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
T-cell co-stimulation: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
In vitro blocking of adhesion: Use at an assay dependent dilution.

Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Function

Integrin alpha-5/beta-1 is a receptor for fibronectin and fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands. In case of HIV-1 infection, the interaction with extracellular viral Tat protein seems to enhance angiogenesis in Kaposi's sarcoma lesions.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family.
Contains 7 FG-GAP repeats.

Cellular localization

Membrane.

ab25251 staining Integrin alpha 5 in Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (MEF) cells by Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence. Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde and permeabilized in Triton X-100. The primary antibody was diluted 1/100 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 25°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor® 546-conjugated goat anti-rat polyclonal, diluted 1/200.
