Customer kindly called to inquire whether our Intergin beta 1 antibodies were conformationally specific, e.g recognized only the active or inactive forms.

Thank you for contacting Abcam. I have a response from the lab regarding conformational specificity of our Integrin beta 1 products.

ab30394 Anti-Integrin beta 1 antibody [12G10]is conformation-specific, and it recognizes the subset of beta1 integrins with high affinity for ligand (i.e. activated). In fact, it is the best antibody for this purpose because it binds close to the ligand-binding site, and the expression of its epitope is exquisitely regulated by divalent cations in the same way that ligand binding is regulated. ab78502 Anti-Integrin beta 1 antibody [P4G11]reacts with calcium-dependent epitopes on the integrin beta 1 subunit.
