Thank you for your email. Please see below for your testing discount code. I am not sure if you had emailed me which antibody you were going to test. If so, then I did not receive this email. I'm sorry about that.

Question 2

So, I should try either ab58996,or ab59002. Do you have any preference? Is 83% good enough or it is borderline? Also, do I have to enroll in the testing discount program? |
ANSWER: |
|
Thank you for your reply. My personal preference would be ab58996, since the immunogensequence is from the propeptide region (usually N-terminal) which aligns relatively well andthe sequence was covered in the pig sequence. For the other immunogen (of ab59002), I am not certain where the immunogen is located (stem region) and if it is covered in the pig sequence.
A homology of 83% is still good. We usually say a homology of 85% or higher has a good chance of cross reactivity. But this is only a theoretical prediction, and one will only know for sure after trying it out.
Once you let me know which antibody you would like to try in pig samples, I'd be happy to send you the testing discount code for that antibody. There is no formal sign-upfor the testing program. I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let me know which antibody you would be interested in trying. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any more advice or information. |

that is the pig amino acid sequence i got (incomplete). It is the most n-terminal since start with ann ATG: MVTTLGLKMAAELGRGEGSRGPGRGPSQWHWSGSLWIRGVLLLLGGLRASATSIPVYLGN SPPCRHHVPSDSEVINKVHLKANHIVRRDVNEHLRIKTVYDKSIEELLPEKRYLVKNKLF PQAVSYLEKTFQVRRPAGTILLSRQCATNQYQYLRKENDHHRCCTEECAEHTKCGPVIVP EEHLQ |
ANSWER: |

Thank you for your email. The overall sequence homology between the human and the (incomplete) pig Invadolysin protein is 83%. The incomplete pig sequence covers only 1/3 of the human sequence.
For all 4 invadolysin antibodies (ab58996, ab58997, ab59001, ab59002), we do not have information about theimmunogen sequence as this information is made proprietary by the originators of the antibodies. For ab58997, the immunogenwas selected from the catalytic domain, however this region is not included in the pig sequence you sent, thus I am not sure how high the homology between human and pig would be. This is also the case for ab59001.
If you would like to try one of the antibodies, youwould beeligible to use our testing discount program as detailed below.
For UNTESTED species and/or applications, we have established a testing discount program. Here is a brief description of how it works: The testing discount program is for customers who like to use an antibody/protein on an untested species/application. You would purchase the antibody at full price, test it and submit an Abreview with your data (positive or negative). On your next order you will receive a discount for ONE antibody at the full price (100%) of the antibody you have tested. The terms and conditions applicable to this offer can be found here: http://www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount.
Please let me know if I shall send you a testing discount code for one of the antibodies to try it in pig samples.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information. |
