Islet 1 is a transcription factor containing two amino-terminal LIM domains and one carboxy-terminal homeodomain. Islet 1 plays an important role in the embryogenesis of pancreatic islets of Langerhans. In addition, mouse embryos made deficient in Islet 1 fail to undergo neural tube motor neuron differentiation.
Store at +4°C short term (1-2 weeks). Aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C (add glycerol to a final volume of 50% for extra stability). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
