Relevance
|
KAT4 / TAF1 also known as TBP Associated Factor 1 is the largest subunit of the transcription factor TFIID. Studies have shown that KAT4 has serine/threonine domains that can autophosphorylate the large subunit of TFIIF. More recent studies have shown that it is also a histone acetylytransferase, suggesting that transcriptional co activators may also have a role in targeting acetylation activity to promoters.
