Rabbit polyclonal to KCNA3
This antibody recognizes full length KCNA3 protein. It does not cross react with other Kv1 channels.
Reacts with
Mouse, Rat, Human
Tagged recombinant fragment: ARSNSTLSKS EYMVIEEGGM NQSAFPQTPF KTGNSTATCT TNNNPNSCVN IKK, corresponding to amino acids 471-523 of Mouse KCNA3
ARSNSTLSKSEYMVIEEGGMNQSAFPQTPFKTGNSTATCT TNNNPNSCVNIKK
KCNA3 tagged control protein.
Lyophilised:
Please reconstitute this product with 50ul deionized water.
Further dilutions should be made in a buffer with BSA (1-3%). To minimize aspecific staining, centrifuge antibody prep at 10,000g for 5min immediately before use to remove any aggregates.
POSITIVE CONTROL: Reconstitute control protein with 100µl dH2O. Then aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Use as positive control: 20 ng control protein per lane. Use as negative control: preincubate 3-5 ug control protein with 1 ug antibody for 1h at RT.
Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Preservative: 0.1% Sodium Azide
Constituents: 5% Sucrose, 1% BSA, PBS, pH 7.4

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab54526 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.75 - 1.5 µg/ml (or 1:200-1:400, chemiluminescence). Predicted molecular weight: 58 kDa.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient.
Belongs to the potassium channel family. A (Shaker) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv1.3/KCNA3 sub-subfamily.
The N-terminus may be important in determining the rate of inactivation of the channel while the tail may play a role in modulation of channel activity and/or targeting of the channel to specific subcellular compartments.
The segment S4 is probably the voltage-sensor and is characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position.
